Memories on Monday*

I told a blogger friend that I would post this in reference to a blog that she had posted about people from the past, heartaches, and other things that have been sneaking up and hurting her lately. I quickly let her know that she is not a lone. I know of many times here in the past few years that this has happened to me. Every time this happens to me I just go right to my Myspace (where it is posted) and read it, until it finally sinks into my head. Although, no matter what you cannot help the things that you sometimes miss in your life, or possibly even the people that you miss.

---Maybe God wanted us to meet the wrong person before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift. Maybe when the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us. Maybe the best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation youve ever had. Maybe it is true that we do not know what we have until we lose it, but it is also true that we do not know what we have been missing until it arrives. Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they will love you back. Do not expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart; but if it does not, be content it grew in yours. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone. Do not go for looks; they can deceive. Do not go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile. There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real. Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do. May you have enough happiness to make you sweet enough, trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy. Always put yourself in others shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts them too. The happiest of people do not necessarily have the best of everything, they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have searched and those who have tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you cannot go on well in life until you let go of your past failures and the heartaches.--

So it's kind of taken me a while to post because ..lol.. i am at work and we had a fire here? Well, we had something. Our squad room was full of smoke, and we could smell a strong odor of fire. So this girl, had to come back up front and page fire and ems. lol, I know it's not exactly funny. But once again how ironic? It actually didnt take long for fire units to get here, and a crap ton of them came. Kind of embarrasing in a way whenever I paged them out I was kind of in shock and said "Uhm, fire units we need to respond to here? We have a fire in the squad room, smoke and odor only." Yea, not professional but I got the point across.

update on fire---everything is fine, a air conditioning unit on the roof had locked up at set fire. We do have a new one on the way first thing in the morning. SO BRING ON THE WARM WEATHER =)

Thanks for the comment to my blog.

I love this post. I've seen this quote before, but everytime I read it, it hits home.

I see your daughter's birthday is 4-6. My little one turns 4 on 4-3. Time flies, doesn't it!

Glad you all are safe and sound. That would be a little strange to have to dispatch them to your building! I think you handled it well. LOL! :)
