Our Story

Curtis and I met through a mutual friend that was a deputy at my work, we started off talking on the phone and me trying desperately to get him to meet one of my officers at our county line with some Taco Bell (yes, the poor guy had no idea what he was getting himself into! haha) We talked constantly it seemed for several weeks, all while he was trying to get me to go on a date with him to one of my favorite restruants that I told him about. I continued telling him that we would sometime, but I never made this happen. Eventually, he got his hopes up and we started talking less and less.

 Rocky City - Chattanooga, TN

I ended up going a totally different direction with my life with dating someone for two years. Although, I did continue to be friends with Curtis since we worked the same night shift and were able to keep in contact. Whenever things ended with the guy that I was dating, I messaged Curtis and asked if he wanted to hang out sometime. Totally not my style? So, that week on a Wednesday night we met at Denny's for his lunch break around midnight and talked...well he talked. (I was to quiet from what he says.) That night was just the beginning and honestly the first time that we had ever met in person.

The night that we were engaged.

Within two weeks Curtis told me that he loved me. I didn't want to be cliche so I was mean and made him wait until a few nights later when I surprised him at his house after work telling him that "I really love you too." We took a few trips to Chattanooga, TN and Atlanta, GA before finding out that I was pregnant in March of 2011. We knew for the longest time before that we wanted to be married this year but things suddenly took off and we were engaged in March as well and planned a wedding for June 11, 2011.

And on that day I married my best friend........

Story of Mommy

My photo
I am a sinner saved by the grace of God. A wife to the 5oh, and Mother to Charli Beth and Bryar. This is my story of Motherhood, life experiences and sometimes even my overwhelming heart all typed out. I believe in second chances, yet the firm hand of parenting. That sweet tea is of the comfort food category. Chickens belong in every backyard. Children should each have a responsibility of their own while helping take care of duties in the home. Sports are a must for our family, and we spend many nights on courts or fields. We consistently feel new to each of the experiences that are brought into our lives. But we are always excited for the journey in which God has given us.
