On Sunday night the Bluegrass state went into shut down mode as we prepared for our biggest snowfall in a decade. As of Tuesday we received 9-12" in some places. That's huge for us and we loved it; we as in my kids and I. We recieved a few more inches over Tuesday night into Wednesday morning and since then we've been in single and negative digit temperatures. Which hasn't been that lovely...
This is our our living room window as the snow was continuing to fall Monday morning. The wind was petty gusty but we eventually made our way out later in the afternoon.
As soon as we walked ou the door Charli Beth fell to he ground to make a snow angel.
The snow began to fall again while we were out playing. It almost looks as if it is night time. This is a very small hill in the barn yard that they typically slide down, bu it wasn't too much luck with all of the inches on the ground.
It started to get extremely cold so I scooped up 4 cups of snow and headed us inside. What did we do with the 4 cups?
Snow cream of course!
After snow cream was ate and hot chocolate was gone, I realized that Curtis was unable to get into the driveway in his cruiser. So I headed out with a shovel in tow to dig out the driveway. This picture says a thousand words as this road is fairly busy on a typical day. Also I can't help but mention the teenage boys honking and yelling at me.. Which I'm fairly certain they were calling me an idiot?!? But who doesn't want their husband home for back up when you have two stir crazy kids. I dug for two hours with the plow trucks coming by. Thankfully, one was nice enough to stop... The other may or may not have made me curse like a sailor. But I am wife of the year and Curtis was able to make it home.
More snow to come tomorrow...
Unlike 105% of most Kentucky Folks, I am thankful for another snow day.
