My 2008 was crazy, well lets call it a "crazy beautiful completely wonderful mess." haha. I'll go through the months and let you in on my life and what was going on during them of 08.
Jan-I brought in the New Years with the Ausbrook family, Wesley, Charli Beth and Lucas. I had been dating Wesley for a couple of months and we had fun night of movies, and kiddos playing. During this month I also started working for SPD as a dispatcher. Wesley and I took a trip to Gatlinburg at the end, it was the first time I had ever been "away" from Charli Beth.
Feb- Nothing Major happened. Spent Valentines Day with Charli, Wes and my Family. We all went and ate at the local Dumplins' where I believe EVERYONE in town was eating at. Our town experinced a deadly tornado on the 5th of this month, that impacted everyones life in some way.
Mar-Charli Beth had her first febrile seizure and we spent 4 days in the hospital trying to make sure it was nothing more serious all while thanking God for her. We got our first puppy Gunner that sadly passed away from parvo *sp* while Charli was in the hospital.
Apr- Charli Beth turned TWO!! We had a Hello Kitty party at Cedar Spring Fire Dept. and it was a blast. She got a kitten named "Diego" that soon...ran away =( Mom and I did our yearly booth at the Jacksonian Festival in town and it was a success!
May- Mom turned the big 4-0! Wes and I called it quits..and I attended DOCJT this month.
June- I came back home from DOCJT. A friend that I met at DOCJT Trey and I took Charli fishing for her first time at Lake Malone. She caught a blue gill!
July- We took Charli Beth to the Louisville Zoo to see the animals and DORA! She had a blast. We spent the 4th there and with kiki and Kaylen at the State Park watching the fireworks. Kiki and I had a Mommy's night out to see Chris Young at the Wild Horse in Nashville. I must say he as wonderful looking in person as anything else! Vacation Bible School at Clifton General Baptist was fun for Charli and I both!
Aug- I returned to DOCJT, again. Meeting some of the best people ever, and some of the worst I must mention. I started dating Aaron then. I also started attending East Willow with my Mother on Sundays. This is where I still go and plan to.
Sept- My 21st B-day! Spent the weekend in Nashville with my sister, old roomie from college and others! Charli and I took our first trip together to Richmond (yes, back to docjt) to see Aaron and others from Class 396 graduate. We attended Cow Days, in Greensburg and also the Apple festival in Liberty ( I think that is what was called) I started my blog in Sept. also!
Oct- Halloween came so fast this year. Charli Beth was an angel, a beautiful one I must say. We took Charli to Jacksons Orchard where she had a blast seeing all of the animals and picking out her pumpkins! I cant wait to do that again next year! We took our annual trip to Gatlinburg with the rest of the family and had a blast down there!
Nov- Thanksgiving was great...wait, I was at work? haha. Potty training boot camp was complete!!! She also had her 1st dentist apt! Aaron and I also broke up during this time...lol, I'm a hopeless romantic.
Dec- Work and more work. Christmas was fantastic, you guys already know how it went. Mom and I had our 1st in home primitive party, which worked out great!
I cant wait to see what the new year brings! I'll be working tomorrow night until 11 and then coming home to my daughter to kiss her at midnight! Hope everyone has a happy and very safe New Year

A Dispatchers Prayer
Dear Lord,
Give me healthy ears, for they are my link with those who need me. Keep my mind sharp and alert, my fingers quick and nimble. Grant that I never forget how to do ten things at once, and do them all equally well. Bless me with patience Lord. Patience to deal with the public, with the officers, with the firefighters, and with everyone else who makes me want to grit my teeth and yell. Give me nerves of steel; That I may listen to a mother screaming for her child to live, the man with a gun, the family watching their home go up in flames, or a request for backup or more equipment and not give way to panic. Grant me empathy, that I may help the caller in need, and not cause them more pain than they already have. God, give me the ability to learn what I need, to remember it quickly, and give me the wisdom to use the knowledge properly. Bless my family Lord, for they will have to make sacrifices to shift work, overtime, canceled plans and times when I just can't take on one more thing. Help them understand the missed ball games, school programs and dinners for two. Lord, give me courage. Courage to persevere when I feel undervalued, unappreciated, overworked and unrecognized. Courage to keep trying when I feel in my heart it's hopeless. Last of all Lord, help me to never forget why I chose this job in the first place, to never lose sight of what is important in the midst of the stress. Help me to remember that I make a difference; however small it may seem some days, and that I matter. I am a dispatcher, Lord, grant me peace.

Just in from the doctor, and now at work. The doctor visit went pretty well. We knew that she just had the "crud" *sp?* like everyone else but just wanted to make sure that cough was okay. So far it is, thank goodness. Maybe I worry to much? But the only thing they said that needs to watched right now is her febrile seizures esp. for the next two nights. Having a child that has these, is sooo very worry-some. Not only for me but everyone that keeps her. I think I have probably freaked my Mom and "Maw" out by reminding them the warning signs and what to do. I think my Mom will be just fine though. On the other hand of Maw...she's a big time worry-wart! I told her that if she gets worried for anything just call 911 and I'll be sure to answer! Well duh, I would answer, haha! I think she will be just fine though, she's just awful feeling and really wants some rest. Anyways, I'm finally at work, and just got my schedule. Which once again, I'm not so happy with. But I did get a SATURDAY off! Wow. I'm taking a trip to see my friend Coy Lee in Louisville this month, and I'm very excited about it! I just pray that everything will work out to where that I am able too! Have a goodnight, I better get to work.
Thanks for the prayers.
Thanks for the prayers.
Well its thats time of year again, where the weather is still crazy and everyone gets sick. I've had a cold since Christmas night and now Charli has caught it. We're heading to the doctor around two because her cough sounds really bad. Say a little prayer for her that this will just pass as a cold. Thank you & I hope everyone has a great week ahead of them!

Christmas Slideshow
We had a wonderful Christmas at our little home with everyone there. Sadly, we did loose an extended family member (My uncles Mother "mammy"). Although, whenever you live in a such a small town and everyone knows everyone family seems to be just about everybody! It is such a hard time to loose a family member at anytime although, it is never easy to loose someone you love. My prayers go out to my family members and the other family. Charli Beth got me a Mothers necklace and I've already shown it off to all of the guys at work tonight! I got tons of things from Santa (AKA my parents) that I really wanted and needed. My grandmother also gave me a quilt like every other year! I just love it also! (I'll post pictures later) I couldnt have been happier with how the day went for Charli Beth. She was so excited all day long. She loves her kitchen sets, foods, pots & pans, and her GATOR that she has already ran over Mommy with several times! We are going to have a blast playing with all of these new toys! We also have a yearly tradition of reading the story of Jesus birth out of the Bible on Christmas. I hope we continue this tradition so that Charli knows and understand the reason of the season. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

When the holidays roll around I have tend to notice, things get a little crazy in our little southern town. In January I will have been with SPD for a year, so this is my first time getting a first hand view at all. Thanksgiving I had back to back calls of domestics involving shotguns, knives, etc. Already with Christmas it seems that people are just depressed & wanting to take their own lives. Maybe its the way that the economy is? I have no idea. But what a sad time it seems to be for people. When you think of Christmas, you usually think of happy family gathering (just like Thanksgiving) but I pray for these people and mostly their families. Recently I have been dealing with a family that a member has tried to take their own life in a horrible way. This family does not have any money, transportation or the health to drive to the hospital where this subject is now located.( A lot of people probably wouldnt think this is heroic but I most certainly did) While talking about this on the radio...out listening in scanner land one of the constables Mr. Farris heard the problem and came to the rescue as you could say! Farris went and picked up the members of this family and took them to the hospital which is located over an hour away (may I include this was at 1 in the morning). He also bought them supper and gave him all the money that he had on him. I get so tired of reading things that people in our community write on that horrible site TOPIX.COM. Shame on the people that created this site. It seems that in every community Law Enforcement and City officals are picked on most, or maybe this just stand out to me since "these are my people." lol. Does anyone ever take in consideration the good things that people who work in Law Enforcement do? Our F.O.P (faternal Order of Police) sponsored to way over 200 childern/families with Christmas toys this year! That is GREAT! I have been reading a lot about shop w/a cop in bigger cities which is a great idea! I am very proud of our Guys for doing a lot of hard work to get these families the toys and not to mention the citizen of our county and others that have donated these toys. All in all I wish that a lot of people would realize the good that people do that are behind the badges.

Finger Paintin' Fun!
One of the main reasons I love love love being a mommy, is doing things that makes my child belly laugh and have fun!! Here lately we have been baking brownies and other things. Which is a complete mess but hey its fun for her, right? The other day we started a new play time, "finger paint fun." We ruined our clothes ..boo to that! But oh well, memories are what counts!

Well, I've already posted on Bless Ewe prims about our sell at Breakfast w/Santa and all about the day I had there. So i figured I would post on here to keep me awake. I am a girl that NEEDS sleep..this isn't a joke either people, and not complaining. This is the hardcore, down right, dity FACTS, lol. I have to have sleep to be peaceful, non-b*tchy, and up to par with the rest of the world. I am working a 12 hour tonight after 3 and half hours of sleep from working 3rd last night then the breakfast w/ santa. May God be with my county tonight! lol. Just kidding! I'm doing good. I've sent just about everyone and their momma's comments and/or graphics, and I'm fixing to do some more. We had our Christmas parade tonight. Charli Beth was SO excited about the "rade"...when she frist said "rade" I thought she was saying she wanted some gatorade to drink? I couldnt figure out where in the world she had drunk that before. I'm crazyyy. Her favs were the horses, firetrucks, tractors, and yes...the man himself COOKSEY (hahaha..not Ho Ho). We still arent on good terms w/ Mr. Claus! We took some pictures of her and I watching so sometime tomorrow while I am working I am sure that I will post some of them. Well, I'm going to get back to my listening to Los Angeles (kern co) dispatch live on here and wait for 6 am to roll around =) Have a great sunday morning!

A trip to see "ho ho"
I must say that I did black & white this picture just because I looked straight up AWFUL. I had worked two thirds with hardly any sleep and got up early to go to church before going into work for 2nd shift. Charli on the other hand looked perfect that day. The colors in that dress are a little funky and 70's looking (lime greens, browns, etc) but she looked great it in. I took her to the mall tonight with the help of my parents to get a quick picture of her with "ho ho" aka Santa. She was so excited on the way there and while getting ready. When it came down to it...this is as good as it got. (Charli and her Pa)I guess I will talk to her for a few days and then try again. lol. We are having our Christmas pictures made tomorrow afternoon. Our cards for this Holiday season is going to be a dvd of the last year of Charli Beth's life random pictures and video clips. We did this for the 1st birthday invitations, and everyone LOVED them. Plus, Charli loves watching herself on it!Anyways, I am kind of glad that the Thanksgiving holiday has passed. If you read my top ten..know you've been a dispatcher to long when..you will see both that you dont know what Holidays really are when being a dispatcher, and that the holidays are families getting together and fighting. This is so very true. I have never experinced so many domestics involving guns and knives. Maybe they'll have it all out of their systems before Christmas gets here!
Hope everyone has had a great weekend!Friday, November 28, 2008
you know you've been a dispatcher to long when...
10. You believe in aerial spraying of Prozac and/or birth control over certain parts of your city.
9. Your idea of a good night involves someone getting shot, chased or dismembered.
8. You can carry om more than 4 conversations same time.
7. You have a long term telephonic relationship with one or more paranoid, schizophrenic, PTSD suffering people in your city.
6. You have forgotten what it's like to actually eat a warm meal.
5. You find humor in other people's misery.
4. You hear a fire engine or police car go screaming past your house and you wonder not what's happening, but who's going.
3. You can resume a conversation with co-workers 4 hours later, in mid sentence, and everyone know what you are talking about.
2. You have no idea what a holiday is, other than it's the day when everyone gets drunk and beats up their family members.
1. You truly believe that stupidity should be painful.
(FYI: you will probably only understand this if you are a dispatcher yourself or are in type of law enforcement, or ems. Either way, it gave me a good laugh!!)
This Black Friday started out for my Mom, Krystina and I at the outlet malls in Lebanon, TN. They opened up at midnight, and it was pretty crowded but nothing like Walmart was at 5 am I am sure. We got some really good deals at Gymboree, and a few other places. We got home around 5:30 this morning, and I didnt leave the house except to get lunch for the rest of the day until the evening. Which our little town wasn't crazy, I was just exhausted! I think Black Friday is more of a excitement for my Family and I to get ready for the Holidays. I dont think there is any thing that valueable or that AWESOME to trample a man to death. In saying that, I am not sure if you guys have heard about that but if not look it up on MSN. What is wrong with people?? It says they are watching the security cameras to see if there was any criminal action taken place. Well DUH! Those people should be punished, they took a mans life for material items. Come on people...
