yay Charli B!

(sorry for the horrible back and work uniform! lol) I got to leave work for a few today to attend the Jacksonian Pageant that we entered Charli Beth in. She is a pageant girl. No, we don't go all crazy w/ fake hair, make up, etc. We will NEVER do that. My child just has fun showing off her girly side for a while and winning trophies/crowns! We backed out of the pageant scene for a while and started back in today. There were 16 little beauties in Charli Beth's division and she got 1st runner up! She did wonderful; smiled, waved, sweet face, turns, kisses, and "i love you nana." I had a feeling that we weren't the big winner but in my eyes she will always be the winner, every little girl is. She did better today at her pageant than I have ever seen her do. I bet she cannot wait to do more. She has taken naps and fell asleep w/ her trophy in the bed beside her tonight. How cute!! I actually forgot my camera batteries at work whenever I left in a hurry, so Mom brung her to work to take pictures and have ice cream! Yum! Trophy and ice cream, how much could a little girl ask for after today? lol. Hope ya'll have a great week! I'm off 4 days in a row =) yay!!!!!!!!

Great Job Charli B~
how excited does she look?

What a beautiful daughter you have! I can easily tell from reading your most recent post, how much of a blessing she is in your life, and how much you both enjoy the pageant experiences! Charlie B. is such a cutie!

Also, what an amazing spirit you have! And how wonderful that you serve your community as an Emergency Dispatcher! Back home, in Wisconsin, I have been a volunteer EMT and member of our local community volunteer EMS for the past 19 years now, although I have been on leave during the past 2 1/2 years, being down here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast on a hurricane Katrina Personal Mission to help families here rebuild their homes and lives. You will find a few EMS stories on my blog site, along with a good variety of other stuff, including family stories.

My wife and I were through Kentucky a few years ago, in route back from visiting out son and family out in Durham, North Carolina. We spent two days in the hills of Appalachia, just looking around; I really love that area, as I also grew up in hill country in Wisconsin!

You have a great site, and I look forward to reading through your posts as soon as I can.

Have a great week, yourself, and stop back soon!

WAY TO GO Charli Beth!!!! You are just so sweet!

And, Paige, good for you for not giving her the fake tan, false lashes, and crazy big hair! It's so important to let these girls now they are pretty WITHOUT that! My momma would sign me up with just a Sunday dress, hair bow and maybe a little gloss. Sometimes I won, sometimes the "fake girls" did. (Thats what I always called them) haha So therefore, I think you get a trophy!!!

Congratulations Charli Beth. She looked so beautiful, as always. I love the smocked dresses and big bows. Enjoy your time off, you deserve it. I like your hair in the black and white picture and light blonde. My philosophy is, its just hair it will grow back. Have a great week!!

aww yay for her! She is too cute and I think it's great that you are letting this be something she enjoys and not pushing her like so many parents do in any sport! It's more fun when you both enjoy it! :-)

Story of Mommy

My photo
I am a sinner saved by the grace of God. A wife to the 5oh, and Mother to Charli Beth and Bryar. This is my story of Motherhood, life experiences and sometimes even my overwhelming heart all typed out. I believe in second chances, yet the firm hand of parenting. That sweet tea is of the comfort food category. Chickens belong in every backyard. Children should each have a responsibility of their own while helping take care of duties in the home. Sports are a must for our family, and we spend many nights on courts or fields. We consistently feel new to each of the experiences that are brought into our lives. But we are always excited for the journey in which God has given us.
