A Run For My Money

These kids may very well be the death of me this week.

Thankfully Bryar is feeling better and still has not had any issues out of his ears. Although, Miss Charli woke up yesterday morning with pink eye(s)! Yes, both of her eyes were pink, funky, gunky, swollen and just plain icky! We were able to thankfully get the drops in her eyes pretty early in the afternoon but by last night her eyes were almost swollen shut and causing her lots of pain. It was super sad! I am pretty sure that my Mommy heart was broken listening to her moan in her sleep. I had no idea that pink eye hurt that much! Poor girl. She stayed home from school yesterday and today but will be returning to tomorrow morning since she is thankfully feeling better (her eyes not so much though.)

Although the real kicker is that she has school pictures tomorrow!

What in the world.

That will be a great Kindergarten memory!

My Sick Little Buddy

My poor little B man is sick for his very first time! We have all had colds and have been feeling yucky for a while now thanks to the good ole Kentucky weather that we have been experiencing lately. Although, he is such a great baby and has not fussed very much at all he has a cough which is from a typical cold since the Dr. said that his lungs sounded fine, but he does have an ear infection in his right ear and left ear was starting to look bad too! I was honestly completely floored when Dr. Patty told me this because of how happy he has been lately and especially with no fevers! But thankfully we caught all of it before it got really bad. He is now taking antibiotics and will see the Dr. again in about 14 days.

Please pray that Bryar does not get any worse and Charli Beth stays as healthy as ever!

Littlest Loves

It seems that Bryar and Charli Beth are getting more attached to one another each day. It is so sweet how he watches every little thing that she does and then just smiles so big at her when she starts her "mommy talking" to him. I say "Mommy talking" only because she says things like, "Whats the matter little bud..." "Does big sister need to do something for you?" "Who is a cute boy... yes you are yes you are." You typically do not think of 5 years olds talking in this manner. But just as I was telling Curtis last night, Charli has always talked like a little old lady. I love it, even though I wonder where she comes up with "Hey Mom, can you move Bryar I am kind of afarid that he is going to distract me from my movie." it simply just cracks me up!

This picture is from Saturday morning when we first got out of bed and Charli asked to hold him while she watched cartoons.

You know how we were all concerned about the huge transitions that Charli endured over the last year, from the new marriage, new town, Daddy, new family, new BABY? I honestly do not think they bothered her little sassy self one bit ;)

She is such a blessing and,

one heck of a great big Sister!

Tiffany - "I think We're Alone Now"

Even though I may or may have not been born in 1987, I know who Tiffany is many thanks to Google and youtube that is.

She came by my work on Friday to visit because some of my coworkers were huge fans of her, back in the day. So of course, I wanted to get my photo taken with a famous singer!

What made all of this even better was how sweet and down to earth she is!

Valentines Party

This weekend my Mom held a Valentines party at a local place in our old home town called The Sweet Life and invited lots of Charli Beth's little friends from there as well. She was so excited to see all of her "preschool buddies" and Miss Lily as well!

My Mom the crafty soul that she is had all kind of fun activities and things lined up for them! We re-used the little glasses, lips and mustaches (from our wedding Photo Booth that sadly was not able to be used since it rained) for them to take silly photos with.

They each made a Valentines necklace and opened a little gift that had a "diamond ring" in it which was a hersheys kiss wrapped up with a pipe liner (see Charli's finger!)

One of the games they played included using chop sticks to scoot as many conversation hearts as they could get to them before time was up. They were so funny trying to use these! Which isn't everyone?!

The store also made everyone cupcakes, marshmellow pops, cookies, a drink that tasted like bubblegum, and also gave out a little bucket of candy to each child. It was super sweet of Nana to throw this party for Charli Beth and her little buddies. I am sure that she will never forget it just as I have not forgotten all of the amazing parties she threw for my sister and I as kiddos.

I have started to become terrible taking pictures lately and completely forgot to snap a photo of Charli Beth opening her gift from us this year! But we decided that Lady and The Tramp was the perfect little love story to give her! Her and her Daddy watched it together the other night and of course they loved it! My sweet Hubby gave me a clean house (ohh la la) and a Columbia outfit which I am sure he is crossing his finger in hopes that it does not fit so we can return to the Bass Pro Shop in Nashville. Ha! His gift in slowly but surely making it's way here and is the war series set The Pacific. If you may remember we watch Band Of Brothers while I was pregnant at night when I would get home from work and we enjoyed it so much, so I figured this would be the perfect gift to not only please him but to also spend some extra time with him =) Win win!

Must we never forget:

That Darn Ole' Rodeo

Every year for probably the last 4 years Charli Beth and I have always spent our Valentines weekend at the rodeo. It is honestly nothing out of this world wonderful but little Miss Cowgirl cannot get enough of the horses, rodeo clown, her crush Marshall (in the picture above) and nachos of course. Last year was the first year that we attended with Curtis, and thankfully he is able to explain some of the events to her better than I can since he used to ride bulls and bull fight. But *thankfully* he decided to give those traits up since we became a family. haha. I'm not sure if I could handle watching him do that.

This was actually the first even that I have left Bryar with grandparents except for work. I had a huge Mommy guilt after getting there. But I cannot wait for little Bryar to be able to join us next year!! He will have just as much fun as Charli Beth does! Now we just continue to hear about when Charli gets a horse...hopefully, it will happen sooner rather than later for her. Her dream of being a cowgirl needs to begin soon!

Daddy Daughter Valentines Dance

There is nothing more in life that melts my heart than my family. I am truly blessed with a such a great Husband and Father to my children. Being able to have a Daddy for Charli Beth makes my Mommy heart glow more than any of you can ever imagine. But having her a Daddy that takes her to a Daddy Daughter dance, oh my gracious the tears I have (happy tears that is!)

She was so very excited to be able to dress up and most of all she was ecstatic about "wearing a flower on her wrist." She asked me a thousand times before school who was picking it up and when she would be able to put it on.

This dance is put on for the community that we live in and is actually a free event as well. They not only welcome Daddy and Daughters, but Uncles, Grandpa's, or any other special man in the little girls life. Which is so wonderful, because as we all know sometimes a Father figure in a childs life can make just as much difference. They are just as special!

But this year being able to able to watch them as they leave together pretty much sums up all of the dreams that I have had for her since the day she was born. I cannot even type how happy that it makes me, because I'm practically sobbing at the moment. I cannot wait to hear about all of the fun these two have together!

Crazy with a capital C

I have never realized how much a baby changes things within a couple. I guess for starters being that I never experienced this with Charli Beth, it is such a new thing to me as well as it is to Curtis. I never realized that being so tired but not actually realizing that you are tired can make you grumpy....like crazy grumpy. Trust me. Because I am and have been crazy (with a capital C that is) lately.

I never really thought about all of the struggles that you go through with money or small spats that come out of stress. I just thought it was simply because you did not love someone, because that is all that I have ever known. But now I see the other side of this. I see this man that I love so very deeply and always will, but we face mountains each day of things that are new to us. We sometimes do not know how to deal with them and sometimes we must agree to disagree. Although, we are two of the most hard headed, stubborn people in the world we seem to always make it through to the next day and for that I am so very grateful.

There is nothing in this world that I want more than to be the best Wife and Mommy as possible. We all know that we are not perfect, and that we all fail especially in the beginning of new things. I may not be a "new Mommy" but I am a new Mommy of two, and I am most definetely a new Wife. So lets be honest, I am getting my tail whipped and feel as if I am sinking most days rather than keeping my head above the water. But I want to do better and I must do better, not only for me but for my husband and children as well.

I have had such inspiring words from family and friends that time together is a must. Yes, I am meaning date nights! I have been such a baby hog and the thought of leaving Bryar whenever he can just be with me makes me feel a little nutty but I see that it is something that I need to do. I need time wether is for a few hours or for an afternoon to focus on my husband and give my husband the attention that he needs, and that we both deserve. It seems that so many of us get such few date nights.

So my question is; When you and your husband finally get a night/afternoon out what are your favorite things to do?!

Story of Mommy

My photo
I am a sinner saved by the grace of God. A wife to the 5oh, and Mother to Charli Beth and Bryar. This is my story of Motherhood, life experiences and sometimes even my overwhelming heart all typed out. I believe in second chances, yet the firm hand of parenting. That sweet tea is of the comfort food category. Chickens belong in every backyard. Children should each have a responsibility of their own while helping take care of duties in the home. Sports are a must for our family, and we spend many nights on courts or fields. We consistently feel new to each of the experiences that are brought into our lives. But we are always excited for the journey in which God has given us.
