Fall Ball

Fall ball has came and went this year - thank goodness. It was a huge hot mess of season for us and I am pretty sure that Curtis and I could not have been happier to have made it out. Curtis was on duty for a lot of the games, so this left me holding Bryar with no free hands to snap pictures of Charli with. So at the last game, I was snapping pictures left and right.

The girl did great this season, her hitting and catching was a major improvement from the season before. We could have not been more pleased in her hard work and accomplishments!

She did get to be the catcher for most of the games, and we were able to teach her many fundamentals that will stick around the entire time that plays. Being catcher can be an intimidating position for a six year old, especially a little six year old like Charli Beth is, but she absolutely loves it!

She was the first to go and ask the coach if she could play the position. Since they never practiced with a catcher during practices, she had a lot of catching up to do once games started. Maybe with a little help from parents with instructions, she immediately picked up and knew what to do. Not to brag but she was the only girl that came out from behind to box to get short balls. Even though she may have had to fight the girl playing pitcher for the ball, she was learning the important basics of catching.

Charli may not want to play softball in the years to come. Ballet or cheer leading may be her thing but in whatever she decides to do I hope that she works as hard and stays as determined as she was this season. She made me so very proud watching her play a game that she has grown to love!

I think that is neat that CB volunteered to be catcher. Hope she had a great time playing.

Story of Mommy

My photo
I am a sinner saved by the grace of God. A wife to the 5oh, and Mother to Charli Beth and Bryar. This is my story of Motherhood, life experiences and sometimes even my overwhelming heart all typed out. I believe in second chances, yet the firm hand of parenting. That sweet tea is of the comfort food category. Chickens belong in every backyard. Children should each have a responsibility of their own while helping take care of duties in the home. Sports are a must for our family, and we spend many nights on courts or fields. We consistently feel new to each of the experiences that are brought into our lives. But we are always excited for the journey in which God has given us.
